Past Program at DeLavy House During 2007-2008

Programs and Events

Programs are generally (but not always) held on the second Sunday of the month at 2pm at the DeLavy House (151 Edmond Rd., Bernalillo, NM), the museum and home of the Sandoval County Historical Society. If you are interested in attending our programs, driving instructions can be found here. The programs are open to the public and free to SCHS members. Programs include field trips, lectures, exhibits and chautauquas. By appointment, docents provide talks and demonstrations for schools and community groups..

Programs are free to attend but we greatly appreciate donations
that go toward the fee of lecture presenters.

Past Events

At our January 2007 meeting, Norma Libman (right photo) gave us insight into the lives of Pioneer Women from their diaries she had researched.

In February 2007, Mary Ellen Gonzales (left photo) told some wonderful stories, mostly from Spain, that had been handed down from generation to generation.

In June 2007, our meeting was enlivened by the Placitas Mountain Band, led by Gary Libman with members comprised of Mary and Roger Schenso, Joe Ferraro, Doug Chaplan and Jerry Grayson. A variety of instruments were played, including double bass, auto harp, recorder, guitar and various banjos. Many of the songs were “old Tyme” favorites and the audience was allowed to join in and sing along.
